What's going on under my sink? |
 |
 |
 |
Under every plughole in your home is a U-bend,
with a small amount of water standing in the base that acts as a barrier
against gases and germs passing back up the pipe from the waste outlet
system. With the increasing strain put on domestic waste systems from
dishwashers, showers, washing machines and waste disposal units, it's
becoming more and more important to carry out routine cleaning and
maintenance to your plugholes and pipes to keep germs and blockages
at bay and avoid costly plumber bills. |

 |
Why do I need to clean my plugholes regularly? |
 |
 |
 |
There are probably more germs down a plughole than
a toilet, but they are cleaned far less frequently. In kitchens grease
and food debris that get washed down your sink build up and create
a breeding ground for nasty germs such as salmonella. These germs
multiply and create smells, and as the debris builds up it can cause
slow running or even blocked sinks. In bathrooms hair and soap sludge
are the culprits. If you squirt bleach down your sink you kill the
germs, but do not remove the debris, so the germs and smells come
right back. Buster's range of specialist plughole products can address
the specific needs of different problems and areas in your home. |

Why do I need a different Unblocker for
Bathroom and Kitchen Blockages? |
 |
 |
 |
You need different Unblockers for Kitchens and
Bathrooms to tackle the problems specific to the different types of
outlets. In Kitchens grease and food debris cause build up, and so
Kitchen
Drain Clear's unique granular formulation creates heat
to melt the blockage. In Bathrooms hair, soap and
skin particles build up to cause slow running water, so Bathroom
Drain Clear's thick liquid formulation sinks through standing
water to dissolve the blockage. |

What causes Bathroom blockages and smells? |
 |
 |
 |
Most people think that the water that goes down
their bathroom plugholes is ‘clean’ as it’s just
water and personal cleaning products. However hair, soap sludge, skin
particles and body fats wash down too and get trapped in the pipes.
Bacteria live and breed in this build up, leading to nasty smells
and blockages. For blockages and slow running sinks, use Bathroom
Drain Clear. Once the pipes are free flowing Bathroom
Sink Fresh should be used regularly to keep the germs and smells
at bay. |
